Board of Directors
Changeblock acknowledges its responsibility to the environment and people, extending beyond legal and regulatory obligations. We are committed to minimising the impact of our business on both the local and global environment. Continuous improvement in our environmental and social performance is a core element of our business strategy and operations. We actively encourage our customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to adopt similar environmental practices.
Monitoring and Improvement
We are dedicated to:
- Complying with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improving and monitoring our environmental performance.
- Minimising environmental impacts through proactive management. Incorporating environmental considerations into business decisions.
- Enhancing employee awareness and training on environmental issues.
- Reviewing this policy and any related business issues at Senior Management Team meetings.
Transportation and Office
- In alignment with our commitment to sustainability, we implement a hybrid work policy, requiring employees to work virtually for half the week to significantly reduce the environmental impact associated with commuting.
- We encourage employees to travel on public transportation such as buses and trains. Where international travel is required, we offset our carbon emissions using COCO+ Travel.
- Changeblock minimises paper usage and printing in all operations, regularly auditing our waste management practices to identify and implement further waste reduction opportunities.
- We encourage and support our suppliers to implement similar environmental policies, making this a key factor in our supplier selection process.
Products
- Changeblock valuates the environmental impact of any new products before purchase.
- We aim to reduce energy usage in our operations using energy-efficient technology, and appliances where possible.
- We only work with carbon credits that truly represent a credible reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. We validate the integrity of these carbon credits using internationally recognised standards and methodologies, and frameworks.
Culture
We update this policy annually, consulting staff where necessary. We engage our employees in our sustainability efforts through training, workshops, and communication. This includes encouragement of our employees to adopt sustainable practices outside of work and to support our initiatives. We collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to enhance their environmental performance and ensure the prioritastion is given to the purchase of sustainable products and services, supporting companies that have a strong commitment to sustainability. Changeblock believes that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to the success and growth of our business and therefore are committed to having an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and supported regardless of their gender identity, race, ethnicity, sex or ability. We promote diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our business, including areas of recruiting, hiring and training. As an organisation operating globally, it’s essential that we have a diverse team representing the diverse communities and backgrounds that we serve. Changeblock utilises local labour and materials where possible to reduce CO2 emissions and our overall carbon footprint.
